M2x SagaStandards™ Working Group (M2xSWG)

Enabling Decentralized Machine-Driven Collaboration, Transactions, and Value Exchange.

The M2x Working Group (WG) is dedicated to building a robust, scalable, and secure ecosystem for Machine-to-Everything (M2x) interactions.

A next-generation paradigm where autonomous machines, humans, and infrastructure seamlessly collaborate and transact. By leveraging advanced distributed ledgers, smart contracts, AI, and decentralized identifiers (DIDs), the M2x WG will establish the core building blocks of a decentralized machine economy.

Led by Alex Norta

Objectives

The M2x WG aims to develop frameworks, protocols, and standards that enable autonomous interactions (machine-to-machine M2m, machine-to-human M2h, and machine-to-infrastructure M2i) with secure and efficient value transfer among diverse economic actors. The objectives include:

  • Designing an interoperable blockchain-enabled interaction model that governs machine collaborations, microtransactions, and shared resource allocation.
  • Exploring secure identity management, authentication, and validation for autonomous devices using DIDs and self-sovereign identities.
  • Establishing governance frameworks and trust models for machines to autonomously negotiate and execute contracts without human intervention.

Key Challenges Addressed

  • Scalable Transactions: Addressing the need for high-throughput, low-latency machine-driven payments (micropayments, resource allocation).
  • Interoperability: Facilitating machine collaboration across heterogeneous systems using common standards and smart contract frameworks.
  • Decentralized Trust: Implementing robust identity and authentication mechanisms to prevent Sybil attacks, fake nodes, and unauthorized actors.
  • Autonomous Decision-Making: Enabling machines to negotiate, transact, and optimize interactions autonomously in dynamic environments.

The Role of SagaChain

As a key technological enabler, SagaChain by PraSaga provides the necessary blockchain infrastructure to support the scalability and governance requirements of M2x ecosystems. Its unique architecture facilitates:

  • Parallel Processing of Machine Transactions without bottlenecks.
  • Flexible Governance to allow rule updates and contract modifications.
  • Seamless Integration with IoT Systems, enabling smart machines to interact across environments in real-time.

Initial Use Cases

  • Decentralized Energy Trading: Smart grids and autonomous energy units (e.g., solar panels, wind farms, battery storage) trade excess energy in real-time microtransactions based on dynamic supply and demand conditions, improving grid stability and promoting renewable energy adoption.
  • Smart Cities: Machines collaborate for resource optimization (e.g., energy distribution, public infrastructure services).
  • Industrial IoT: Autonomous machines manage supply chain coordination and resource allocation.

The M2x Working Group seeks the collaboration of industry stakeholders, researchers, and blockchain developers to create the next-generation ecosystem for autonomous machine interactions and transactions.

Alex Norta

Currently a scientist / entrepreneur focusing on his blockchain startup, Alex was an associate professor in the Department of Software Science of TalTech until March 1, 2022 and earlier a researcher at the Oulu University Secure- Programming Group (OUSPG ) after having been a
postdoctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, Finland.

He received his MSc degree (2001) from Johannes Kepler University of Linz, Austria, and his Ph.D. degree (2007) from the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands.

Currently, Alex is also a scientist at Tallinn University working on an estonian Web3 research project for the creative media domain, and a member of the Department of Informatics at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.

PraSaga™ is building the next generation of Layer One blockchain. PraSaga™’s technology solution solves many of the limitations that plague first-generation Layer One blockchains. The SagaChain™ successfully addresses lowering transaction fees, extensibility for supply chains, and significantly lowers development costs. We’ve designed the next evolution of blockchain architecture. A Layer One blockchain that achieves the promise that all blockchains have aspired to. One that provides the highest level of resistance against attacks, rewards its ecosystem of contributors and most importantly, scales in throughput as more resources are added to the network, providing the maximum possible increases in speed.

Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this exciting journey together!
